#Antarctica #jade iceberg!

Jade Iceberg, Antarctica - Enormous hunks of ice break off from the ice shelf, creating icebergs. When one of these icebergs overturns, its jade underside is revealed. The wondrous color of this ‘marine ice’ results from organic matter dissolved in the seawater at those great depths.:

Cool! A Jade iceberg in Antarctica! Technically, all icebergs have a jade underside we just can’t see it because it’s still attached to the ice shelf. When they break off, it flips over and this jade color or “marine ice” is revealed. It’s made out of all the organic material that dissolves underwater! (ha, don’t think about that when you’re out swimming next time)
